Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Part Number 3934683 - Make: Cummins® The Electronic Control Module, also known as the ECM, is a critical component of the engine management system in a commercial truck. Designed by Cummins®, it serves as the central control unit that oversees and regulates various engine functions. Using input from sensors placed throughout the engine, the ECM continuously monitors and adjusts parameters such as fuel injection timing, air-to-fuel ratio, ignition timing, and turbocharger boost pressure. By optimizing these parameters, the ECM ensures efficient engine performance, improved fuel economy, and reduced emissions. It also stores and retrieves engine fault codes for diagnostic purposes, allowing technicians to identify and resolve issues quickly.
