DESCRIPTION
An Engine Brake Kit, also known as a Jake Brake, is an aftermarket device that can be added to diesel engines to increase the vehicle's braking power. The kit includes a set of engine components such as valves, rocker arms, and springs that work together to slow down the truck by using engine compression. When activated, the Jake Brake interrupts the normal operation of the engine and opens exhaust valves at specific intervals during the compression stroke. This creates resistance in the cylinders and slows down the vehicle without having to rely solely on traditional braking methods. The Engine Brake Kit is particularly useful for large trucks that need additional stopping power when traveling downhill or carrying heavy loads.
