The piston is a cylindrical component that moves up and down inside the engine cylinder as fuel is ignited, transmitting energy to the crankshaft. The connecting rod connects the piston to the crankshaft and converts linear motion into rotational motion. The wrist pin, also known as a piston pin, connects the piston to the connecting rod and allows for pivot movement. Finally, circlips are small retaining rings that hold components in place on either side of the wrist pin.
