DESCRIPTION
A engine piston kit is a set of components that includes the piston itself, piston rings, and wrist pin. The piston is the component within an engine that moves up and down in the cylinder bore, compressing air and fuel during the intake stroke and then transferring energy to the crankshaft during the power stroke. The piston rings help seal off combustion gases from leaking past the side of the piston into other parts of the engine. The wrist pin connects to a connecting rod, which in turn transmits motion to the crankshaft. A properly functioning engine piston kit is essential for efficient operation of an internal combustion engine.
