DESCRIPTION
The Engine Piston Kit, part number 5472946, is a set of components that work together to transfer energy from the combustion process to the crankshaft. The kit includes pistons, piston rings, and wrist pins. The piston is a cylindrical component that moves up and down inside the engine cylinder and compresses the fuel mixture during the combustion process. The piston rings provide a seal between the piston and cylinder wall, preventing leaking of gas and oil into each other's compartments while also aiding in heat transfer. Finally, the wrist pin connects the connecting rod to the piston allowing it to move freely up and down while transmitting power from combustion to crankshaft rotation.
