DESCRIPTION
The Engine Piston Kit, identified by part number 4955645, is a set of components that includes the piston, piston rings, wrist pin and circlips. The piston is a cylindrical component that moves up and down in the engine cylinder bore. It is responsible for compressing the air/fuel mixture within the cylinder as well as transmitting power to the crankshaft through the connecting rod. The piston rings are installed around the circumference of the piston and provide a seal between it and the cylinder wall to prevent combustion gases from escaping into the crankcase. The wrist pin connects the piston to the connecting rod while allowing it to pivot freely during engine operation. Finally, circlips are used to secure these components in place within their respective grooves on either end of the wrist pin. Overall, this kit plays an important role in ensuring efficient engine performance and longevity by maintaining proper compression ratios and preventing oil consumption or blow-by.
