DESCRIPTION
An engine piston kit is a set of components that includes the piston, piston rings, and wrist pin. The piston is the cylindrical component inside the engine cylinder that moves up and down to compress and ignite fuel. The piston rings create a seal between the piston and cylinder wall to prevent leakage of gases during combustion. The wrist pin connects the piston to the connecting rod which transfers power from the combustion process to rotate the crankshaft. The 5405711 part number refers to a specific kit for use in trucks with compatible engines.
