DESCRIPTION
An exhaust manifold is a component of a truck's engine that collects exhaust gases from each cylinder and channels them into one pipe. It is typically made of cast iron or stainless steel and can be either a single-piece or multiple-piece design. The manifold connects to the engine block and is bolted directly to the cylinder head. Its primary function is to direct exhaust gases away from the engine and into the exhaust system, where they are ultimately expelled out of the tailpipe. A properly functioning exhaust manifold helps to improve overall engine performance by increasing airflow and reducing backpressure, which can lead to improved fuel economy, increased horsepower, and reduced emissions.
