DESCRIPTION
The Exhaust Brake Assembly, also known as a Jake brake, is a system designed to slow down diesel-powered trucks by restricting the flow of exhaust gases. The assembly includes a valve that is installed in the engine's exhaust system and controlled by the driver via a switch or pedal. When engaged, the valve partially closes, creating back pressure in the engine and reducing its output power. The resulting resistance helps to slow down the truck without relying solely on the brakes, which can overheat and wear out quickly on steep downhill grades. The Exhaust Brake Assembly is an essential safety feature for heavy-duty trucks that regularly navigate hilly or mountainous terrain. Part number 3803905 is one of many variations available on the market that are compatible with different makes and models of diesel engines.
