DESCRIPTION
An Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler, also known as an EGR Cooler, is a component found in diesel engines that reduces the temperature of exhaust gases before they are recirculated back into the engine. This is achieved through the use of a heat exchanger that transfers heat from the exhaust gas to engine coolant. The cooled exhaust gas then flows back into the engine to reduce emissions and improve fuel efficiency. The EGR cooler helps to prevent excessive formation of nitrogen oxides (NOx) by lowering combustion temperatures and reducing oxygen concentrations in the cylinder. The part number for this specific EGR cooler is 5263369.
