DESCRIPTION
The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve Kit, also known as part number 5473227, is a component in a truck's engine that reduces the amount of nitrogen oxide emissions by recirculating exhaust gases back into the combustion chamber. The kit includes the EGR valve and associated hardware necessary for installation. The valve is controlled by the engine control module (ECM) and opens and closes to allow exhaust gases to flow into the intake manifold. This process lowers combustion temperatures which can reduce NOx emissions, helping vehicles meet emission standards. Proper maintenance of this kit is important for optimal engine performance and emission control in diesel engines.
