DESCRIPTION
The Exhaust Manifold is a component of a truck's engine that collects exhaust gases from the cylinders and directs them into the exhaust pipe. It is typically made of cast iron or stainless steel and can be either a single piece or multiple pieces bolted together. The manifold is attached to the cylinder head and has individual ports for each cylinder's exhaust. Its primary function is to collect the exhaust gases from each cylinder and combine them into one pipe, which then leads to the catalytic converter and muffler. A damaged or cracked manifold can lead to decreased engine performance, increased fuel consumption, and potentially harmful emissions.
