DESCRIPTION
The Fan Pilot Spacer (FPS), also known as a fan pilot bearing spacer, is a cylindrical component that is located between the fan pilot bearing and the engine crankshaft on a truck. Its purpose is to maintain proper spacing between the two components and prevent metal-to-metal contact. The FPS is typically made of durable materials such as steel or aluminum and can withstand high temperatures and loads. It plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operation of the engine's cooling system by keeping the fan blades at the correct distance from other components. If an FPS becomes worn or damaged, it should be replaced promptly to avoid potential damage to other parts of the engine.
