DESCRIPTION
A Fan Clutch is a component of the engine cooling system in a truck. It is typically located on the front of the engine and is responsible for controlling the speed of the engine's cooling fan. The clutch works by regulating the flow of fluid to the fan, which in turn controls its speed. When the engine is cold or operating at low speeds, the clutch will disengage and allow the fan to spin at a slower rate, reducing noise and improving fuel efficiency. As temperatures rise or when additional cooling is required, the clutch will engage and increase fan speed to maintain proper engine temperature. The Fan Clutch part number 3862585 fits specific models of trucks and should be replaced if it fails to operate properly or makes excessive noise.
