DESCRIPTION
The Fan Hub (part number 3415046) is a component of a truck's engine cooling system. It is responsible for driving the engine's fan, which draws air through the radiator to cool the engine. The hub connects to the engine's crankshaft and uses a viscous coupling to transfer power from the engine to the fan. As the engine heats up, the viscous fluid in the coupling thickens, causing it to transmit more power and spin faster. This increases airflow through the radiator and helps maintain optimal operating temperatures for the engine. The Fan Hub plays an important role in preventing overheating and ensuring reliable performance in heavy-duty trucks.
