DESCRIPTION
The Flywheel Housing, also known as a bell housing, is a component that encloses and protects the flywheel and clutch assembly in a vehicle's transmission system. It is typically made of cast iron or aluminum and bolts onto the back of the engine block. The Flywheel Housing provides a mounting point for the transmission and allows for proper alignment between the engine and transmission shafts. It also contains an opening for the starter motor to engage with the flywheel to start the engine. The Flywheel Housing plays an important role in ensuring smooth power transfer from the engine to the transmission, making it an essential part of any vehicle's drivetrain system.
