DESCRIPTION
The Flywheel Housing Seal, also known as the Rear Main Seal, is a component located at the back of the engine block that seals the gap between the engine and transmission bellhousing. It is designed to keep oil from leaking out of the engine and into the transmission housing. The Flywheel Housing Seal is made of durable materials and must be installed correctly to ensure proper sealing. If it becomes worn or damaged, it can cause oil leaks which can lead to engine damage if not addressed promptly. The Part Number for this component is 2887097 and should be used as a replacement part when necessary.
