DESCRIPTION
A flywheel is a mechanical device that stores rotational energy in a rotating mass. It is typically used in vehicles to smooth out the power delivery from the engine to the transmission. The flywheel is bolted to the back of the engine's crankshaft and serves as a mounting point for the clutch assembly. The clutch disc, pressure plate, and throwout bearing are all attached to the flywheel. When you press down on the clutch pedal, it disengages these components from spinning with the engine allowing you to shift gears without damaging your transmission or stalling your engine. The 3023620 is a specific part number for a flywheel used in certain truck models.
