DESCRIPTION
The flywheel housing, also known as the bellhousing, is a metal casing that houses the flywheel and connects the engine to the transmission in a truck. It is typically made of cast iron or aluminum and bolted onto the back of the engine block. The flywheel housing provides support for the starter motor and allows for proper alignment of the clutch assembly.
