DESCRIPTION
The Flywheel Housing (Part Number 3285957) for Cummins® commercial trucks is a component that encloses and supports the flywheel. It is typically made of cast iron or aluminum and is bolted to the rear of the engine block. The main function of the flywheel housing is to provide a housing for the flywheel and to protect it from external contaminants. It also serves as a mounting point for the clutch assembly. The flywheel housing ensures proper alignment between the crankshaft and the transmission input shaft, allowing for power transfer and smooth engagement of the clutch.
