DESCRIPTION
The Fuel Shutoff Valve, also known as the fuel cutoff solenoid or fuel shutdown solenoid, is an essential component in diesel engines. Its primary function is to control the flow of fuel from the tank to the engine by opening and closing a valve. This valve can be activated manually or automatically through a switch or sensor that detects changes in engine speed, temperature, or pressure. The Fuel Shutoff Valve is typically located near the fuel injection pump and may have one or two wires connected to it for power and ground. When the valve is energized, it allows fuel to flow into the injection system, while de-energizing it shuts off the supply of fuel completely. This component helps prevent accidents caused by engine runaway due to over-fueling or oil contamination.
