DESCRIPTION
The Fuel Injection Pump (part number 3912858) is an essential component of a diesel engine that delivers pressurized fuel to the engine's cylinders. It is typically driven by the engine's camshaft and consists of a housing, plunger, and delivery valve. The plunger moves up and down within the housing, drawing fuel in from the fuel tank and then pressurizing it before sending it out to the appropriate cylinder via the delivery valve. This process ensures that each cylinder receives a precise amount of fuel at precisely the right moment for optimal combustion efficiency. In modern diesel engines, electronic control units regulate fuel injection timing and quantity for even greater accuracy and performance.
