Fuel injection pump (part number 3928148) is a crucial component in the fuel system of a diesel engine truck. It is responsible for pressurizing and distributing fuel to the engine's cylinders at the correct time and in the correct amount, ensuring efficient combustion. The pump receives fuel from the tank and uses a plunger and barrel mechanism to create high pressure, which forces the fuel through injectors into each cylinder. The timing of this process is controlled by a camshaft or crankshaft sensor, which sends signals to an electronic control module (ECM).
