Fuel Injection Pump
The Fuel Injection Pump (part number 3973900) is a key component in the diesel engine fuel system of a truck. The pump is responsible for delivering fuel to the engine at the correct pressure and timing, ensuring optimal combustion and engine performance. It works by drawing fuel from the tank through a filter and then pressurizing it using a plunger and camshaft mechanism. The pressurized fuel is then sent to each individual injector at precisely timed intervals, based on signals from the engine control module. A malfunctioning or worn Fuel Injection Pump can lead to poor acceleration, loss of power, increased emissions, and other issues.
