DESCRIPTION
A centering gauge, also known as a pinion depth tool, is a truck component used to measure the distance between the pinion gear and the ring gear in a differential. It consists of a gauge block and dial indicator that attaches to the housing. The gauge block is placed between the pinion gear teeth and the indicator measures how much it moves when rotated. This measurement helps determine if the pinion depth needs adjustment for proper gear meshing and smooth operation of the differential. The part number for this centering gauge is 4919356.
