DESCRIPTION
The Gear Cover (Part Number: 3255734) is a protective shield that encases the gears of a truck's transmission or differential. The cover is typically made of durable metal, such as aluminum or steel, and is bolted onto the housing of the gearbox. Its primary function is to keep dirt, debris, and other contaminants out of the gears while also preventing oil from leaking out. The Gear Cover also helps to dissipate heat generated by the gearbox during operation. In addition to providing protection and heat dissipation, some Gear Covers may also have inspection ports that allow for easy access to internal components for maintenance or repair purposes.
