DESCRIPTION
The gear housing (part number 3428894) is a component of a truck's transmission system that encloses and protects the gears and other moving parts. It is typically made of cast iron or aluminum and can be either a separate piece or integrated into the transmission case. The gear housing serves as a mounting point for various sensors and switches, such as the speed sensor or neutral safety switch, and may also have ports for fluid lines.
