DESCRIPTION
The Idler Gear is a component in a truck's engine that helps to transfer power from the crankshaft to other parts of the engine. It is also known as the intermediate gear or jackshaft. The idler gear rotates at a different speed than the crankshaft and allows for smoother operation of other components such as the camshaft and oil pump.
