The Gear Housing, also known as the transmission case, is a vital component of a truck's transmission system. It encloses and protects the gears and other internal components of the transmission. This part is made up of tough materials such as cast iron or aluminum to withstand the high stresses associated with power transmission. The Gear Housing also serves as a mounting point for other parts of the transmission system, including the shift linkage and oil cooler lines.
