Gear Housing (Part Number: 5311268)
The gear housing, also known as the transmission case, is a vital component of a truck's transmission system. It houses the gears that transmit power from the engine to the drive wheels, and it protects those gears from dirt and debris. The gear housing is typically made of cast aluminum or steel and is bolted to the engine block. It contains oil-filled compartments that help lubricate and cool the transmission components. Without a properly functioning gear housing, a truck's transmission system would not be able to operate effectively.
