DESCRIPTION
The governor weight (part number: 107261) is a component found in diesel engines that helps regulate the engine's RPMs. It is a small metal weight connected to the governor arm and works by spinning around and reacting to changes in centrifugal force. As the engine speeds up, the governor weight moves outward, which causes the fuel supply to decrease, slowing down the engine. Conversely, when the engine slows down, the governor weight moves inward, increasing fuel supply and speeding up the engine. The governor weight plays a critical role in maintaining consistent RPMs and preventing over-revving of an engine under heavy load conditions.
