DESCRIPTION
The governor barrel is a component of a diesel engine fuel system that helps regulate the engine's speed. It is typically made of metal and is cylindrical in shape. The governor barrel works by controlling the amount of fuel that enters the engine based on its rotational speed. As the engine speeds up, centrifugal force causes the weighted governor assembly to move outward, which in turn moves a valve inside the barrel, regulating fuel flow and maintaining a consistent engine speed.
