DESCRIPTION
The Governor Plunger Drive, also known by its part number BM42973, is an essential component of a diesel engine's fuel system. It regulates the amount of fuel delivered to the engine by controlling the position of the fuel injection pump's plunger. The governor plunger drive works by converting rotational motion from the engine's camshaft into linear motion that moves the plunger up and down. This movement controls how much fuel is delivered to each cylinder at a given time, ensuring that the engine runs smoothly and efficiently. Without a functioning governor plunger drive, an engine may experience inconsistent power output or even fail to start altogether.
