DESCRIPTION
A Hose Clamp, also known as a hose clip or hose lock, is a mechanical device used to secure and seal a hose onto a fitting or barb. It is commonly used in automotive applications to prevent leaks and ensure proper flow of fluids such as coolant, fuel and oil. The Hose Clamp consists of a narrow band made of metal or plastic with an adjustable screw mechanism that tightens the band around the hose. The screw can be tightened or loosened using a special tool, such as pliers or a screwdriver, depending on the type of clamp used. The Hose Clamp helps maintain pressure within the system by preventing hoses from slipping off their connections due to vibration or pressure changes.
