DESCRIPTION
A starter motor (part number 2871250) is an electric motor that initiates the engine's rotation during the ignition process. When the key is turned, a signal is sent to the starter solenoid which activates the starter motor. The motor then turns the flywheel or flexplate, which in turn rotates the crankshaft and starts the engine. The starter motor draws power from the battery and requires a high current to operate effectively. If a starter motor fails, it can be due to issues such as worn brushes or a faulty solenoid. A malfunctioning starter can prevent an engine from starting altogether, making it an important component for any vehicle's operation.
