DESCRIPTION
The Starter Motor, also known as the cranking motor, is an electric motor that is responsible for starting the engine of a vehicle. It receives electrical power from the battery and converts it into mechanical energy to rotate the engine's flywheel. The starter motor consists of several components, including a solenoid, brushes, armature, and drive gear. When the ignition key is turned on, the solenoid engages and pushes a plunger that connects the starter motor to the flywheel. The armature then spins at high speed to turn over the engine until it starts running on its own. Once the engine starts running, the starter motor disengages from the flywheel automatically. A faulty starter motor can cause problems with starting your vehicle or lead to other issues such as draining your battery rapidly.
