DESCRIPTION
The starting motor, also known as a starter, is an electric motor that is responsible for cranking the engine to start the combustion process. The starting motor receives an electrical signal from the ignition switch and uses that energy to turn the engine's flywheel, which in turn starts the engine. The Cummins® 5442263 starting motor is designed specifically for use in Cummins® diesel engines.
