DESCRIPTION
A tube fitting, also known as a compression fitting or a tube connector, is a type of plumbing connection used to join two pipes or tubes together. The tube fitting consists of two parts: the body and the nut. The body is usually made of brass, stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant materials and contains the tube or pipe that is being connected. The nut is used to tighten the fitting onto the pipe or tube, creating a seal that prevents leaks. Tube fittings are commonly used in automotive and industrial applications where high pressure and temperature conditions exist. They are easy to install and require no special tools.
