DESCRIPTION
The Oil Control Ring (Part Number: 201090) is a component found in the engine of a truck. Its primary function is to regulate the amount of oil that reaches the piston cylinder walls. This is achieved by creating a seal between the piston and cylinder wall, which prevents excess oil from entering the combustion chamber and burning off. The ring itself consists of three parts: two rails and an expander. The rails are made of a thin, flexible material that conforms to the shape of the cylinder wall, while the expander ensures that they remain in position. Over time, these rings can become worn or damaged, leading to increased oil consumption and reduced engine performance. As such, it's important to regularly inspect and replace them as needed to ensure optimal engine function.
