DESCRIPTION
The Oil Pan is a component located at the bottom of the engine that holds the engine oil. Its main function is to collect and store oil while also providing a way for the oil to circulate throughout the engine. The Oil Pan is typically made of steel or aluminum and can vary in size depending on the vehicle's make and model. It attaches to the bottom of the engine block with bolts and has a drain plug that allows for easy removal of old oil during an oil change. The Oil Pan also features baffles, which help prevent sloshing of the oil during acceleration, deceleration, or cornering. A damaged or leaking Oil Pan can result in low oil pressure, which can cause serious damage to an engine over time.
