DESCRIPTION
The idle spring plunger, also known as the ISP, is a small component found in the carburetor of a truck's engine. Its purpose is to regulate the idle speed by controlling the flow of fuel and air into the engine while at rest. The ISP maintains a consistent idle speed by pressing against a spring-loaded lever that opens or closes the throttle valve. When the accelerator pedal is not engaged, this plunger restricts airflow to keep the engine running smoothly and efficiently. If it becomes worn or damaged, it can cause issues with idling and overall performance of your truck's engine.
