DESCRIPTION
The Catalyst Module, also known as a catalytic converter, is an emission control device found in the exhaust system of a truck. Its purpose is to reduce harmful pollutants such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbons by converting them into less harmful components. The Catalyst Module consists of a ceramic or metallic substrate coated with various catalysts including platinum, palladium, and rhodium. As exhaust gases pass through the substrate, they react with the catalysts to break down the pollutants into water vapor and carbon dioxide. The 2880499NX part number refers to a specific model of Catalyst Module designed for use in certain makes and models of trucks.
