DESCRIPTION
A catalyst module, also known as a catalytic converter, is an emissions control device found in the exhaust system of a truck. Its purpose is to reduce harmful pollutants such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons by converting them into less harmful substances. The catalyst module contains a ceramic honeycomb structure coated with precious metals such as platinum and palladium which act as catalysts to promote the chemical reactions that convert the pollutants. The part number 2888239 may refer to a specific type or model of catalyst module used in certain trucks.
