DESCRIPTION
The Fuel Pump Gear, also known as the Camshaft Gear, is a vital component in diesel engines. It is responsible for driving the fuel pump and regulating the amount of fuel delivered to the engine. The gear is typically made of high-strength steel or cast iron and features precision-cut teeth that mesh with the camshaft to create a precise timing relationship. The Fuel Pump Gear must be properly aligned with the camshaft to ensure proper fuel delivery and prevent engine damage. If worn or damaged, it can cause poor engine performance, decreased fuel efficiency, and even catastrophic engine failure. As such, regular inspection and maintenance of this component are critical for optimal truck operation.
