DESCRIPTION
A Cylinder Kit, identified by part number 3804380, is a component of a truck's engine. It includes the cylinder liner, piston, rings, and wrist pin. The cylinder liner is a cylindrical sleeve that fits inside the engine block and provides a smooth surface for the piston to move up and down in. The piston is a cylindrical component that moves up and down inside the cylinder liner to compress air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber or to expel exhaust gases from it. Piston rings help seal the gap between the piston and cylinder wall to prevent compression loss or oil leakage. Finally, the wrist pin connects the piston to the connecting rod, allowing it to move with less friction during operation. Cylinder kits are typically replaced during engine rebuilds or overhauls when these components have worn out or become damaged beyond repair.
