DESCRIPTION
The Pressure Temperature Sensor (part number 4921479) is a vital component in a truck's engine management system. This sensor measures both the pressure and temperature of the engine oil, providing important data to the truck's computer. The computer uses this information to adjust fuel injection, timing, and other parameters for optimal performance and efficiency. The sensor consists of a small housing with an electrical connector and two probes that are inserted into the engine block. When the engine is running, oil flows past the probes, allowing them to measure pressure and temperature. If this sensor fails or becomes inaccurate, it can cause issues such as reduced performance or even engine damage if oil pressure drops too low.
