DESCRIPTION
The Catalyst Module with part number 5287477RX is an emissions control device found in diesel trucks. It is responsible for reducing harmful pollutants in the exhaust gases before they are released into the atmosphere. The module works by converting toxic nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen gas and water vapor through a process called Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). The SCR system injects a urea-based solution, commonly known as Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), into the exhaust stream to react with the NOx and convert it to harmless compounds. The Catalyst Module plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and improving air quality.
