DESCRIPTION
Antiseize Compound is a lubricant that is applied to threaded fasteners to prevent them from seizing or sticking due to corrosion or high temperatures. It is a specially formulated compound that contains a mixture of metallic and non-metallic solids, such as copper, graphite, and aluminum, suspended in a grease or oil base. The compound helps to reduce friction between the threads of the fasteners, making them easier to install and remove, and also provides a barrier against moisture and other contaminants that can cause corrosion. The Cummins® Antiseize Compound, part number 5299995, is specifically designed for use on Cummins® engines and is recommended for use on exhaust manifold bolts, turbocharger mounting bolts, and other high-temperature fasteners.
