DESCRIPTION
A piston pin or wrist pin, identified by part number 554785, is a cylindrical metal rod that connects the piston to the connecting rod in an internal combustion engine. It allows the piston to pivot and move up and down within the cylinder while transferring force to the connecting rod. The piston pin must be precisely fitted into both the piston and connecting rod to prevent excessive wear, noise, and vibration. Additionally, it must be made of a durable material resistant to high temperatures and pressures, as well as lubricated regularly to ensure proper functioning.
