DESCRIPTION
A piston ring compressor is a tool used in the engine rebuilding process to compress piston rings before inserting the pistons into the engine block. The compressor, such as part number 4919373, is designed to fit over the piston and then be tightened down, applying even pressure to compress the rings. This allows for easier installation of the pistons and ensures proper ring seating in the cylinder walls. The use of a piston ring compressor is essential for preventing damage to both the rings and cylinder walls during assembly.
